Oshawa Textile Recycling Program

Timeline: 2018 onwards

The City of Oshawa has partnered with Diabetes Canada and York University on a textile recycling program to help combat textile waste in the City. 

The textile recycling program accepts all adult and children’s clothing and footwear, including undergarments, towels, pillows, and curtains. The program accepts items in all conditions.  

Four textile donation bins are installed at recreation facilities in the city including: 

Delpark Homes Centre (west parking lot, north/west corner)

Donevan Recreation Centre (west parking lot, north/east corner)

South Oshawa Community Centre (south/west corner of building)

Civic Recreation Complex

The City encourages community members to adopt more environmentally conscious choices in all facets of daily living. Oshawa has achieved a 48% waste diversion rate.
