Beaver Woodland Restoration Project

Timeline: 2017 onwards

The goal is to restore Beaver Woodland to a healthy and diverse urban forest while maintaining it as a recreational site for trail users. Approximately 2ha of woodlot was significantly affected by the Emerald Ash Borer, as the woodlot was comprised mainly of ash trees. Forest restoration work included the removal of dead ash trees and debris, herbicide treatment of invasive species, tree planting and monitoring.
