Timeline: 2021 onwards
The Region of Peel is seeking to construct a CaGBC certified zero-carbon building with high energy performance for the new construction of East Avenue, an affordable housing facility. This initiative seeks to increase the residential units from 30 to nearly 150 while improving the living conditions for those living in the building. Additionally, this project has served as a catalyst to support ongoing work in the development of Green Development Standards for New Construction, which will be a first for the Region of Peel. The construction of East Avenue reinforces the Region’s commitment and leadership in climate change action.
