King Township’s electric vehicle fleet

January 12, 2022 by

Timeline: 2020 onwards. Two 2021 Hyundai Konas were purchased in 2020. One will be used by King Township Fire and Emergency Services Fire Inspectors and the other by the Community Services. These are the first fully electric vehicles in King’s fleet as the Township transitions to a green fleet over the next nine years.

2023 update:

Kingston has invested in a wide range of electric light-duty fleet vehicles. Recently, they took delivery of seven Hyundai Konas to add to the 24 already on duty, with 11 more zero-emission vehicles arriving over the next few months. These include the Kona, a PHEV Ford Escape, and a Ford E-Transit cargo fan. The city also boasts Chevy Bolts and a couple of Toyota Prius vehicles.

By the end of 2023, the City had 35 light-duty electric vehicles in its fleet.
