My Decarbonization Journey by Brian Kelly

February 1, 2023 by

Buildings are the top source of carbon emissions in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area and account for 44% of the region’s total emissions. Building emissions arise mainly from burning fossil fuels for space and water heating. To achieve net zero emissions by 2040, our communities must eliminate the use of fossil fuels in their homes by switching to cleaner energy sources and making their homes energy efficient. Every community member can contribute to fighting against climate change – and it all starts from your home!

Some inspiring GTHA residents are already taking the lead to make their homes fossil-fuel-free! Through this webinar, come along and join us to learn about Brian Kelly’s decarbonization journey. Brian is a former Manager of Sustainability at the Regional Municipality of Durham and has undertaken a retrofit journey to make his home energy efficient.
