Mitigating Flood Risks in Canada: a “whole of society” approach to limiting costly damages

Flooding is the costliest extreme-weather disaster in Canada. In response to this foreboding challenge, Canada has developed a compilation of national standards, guidelines and practical, proven approaches to mitigate flood risks – as outlined in the Intact Centre latest report, “Under One Umbrella: Practical Approaches for Reducing Flood Risks in Canada.” In this webinar, we will explore practical means that local governments can advance flood risk reduction initiatives in their communities.
