Climate Lens Tool

Step 1 of 5

20%
  • This project does not result in an increase in green house gases, temperature or precipitation exposure
  • Mitigation

  • GHG impact has been considered.
  • Project does not result in GHG reduction but more GHG intensive options exist.
  • Project results in most intensive GHG outcome.
  • Temperature

  • Examples: Outdoor shade (i.e. tree canopy, built structures), Indoor climate control (i.e. air conditioning, geothermal), Heat island abatement (i.e. white roof, green roof), Human health and vulnerable populations (i.e. programs), Agriculture and economy (i.e. experimental crops), Infrastructure/green infrastructure
  • Temperature impact has been considered and improved over base case.
  • Project does not result in temperature reduction, but alternatives resulted in greater increases.
  • Project results in most temperature intensive outcome.
  • Precipitation

  • Examples: Natural features and processes (i.e. wetlands, naturalized structures), Urban storm/flood management, Rural storm/flood management, Infrastructure/green infrastructure, Human health and vulnerable populations, Agriculture and economy
  • Precipitation impact has been considered and improved over base case.
  • Project does not result in increased precipitation exposure, but alternatives resulted in greater exposure.
  • Project results in most precipitation intensive outcome.
