Fresh Air Fair 2006
The 2006 Fresh Air Fair took place on Sunday, June 4, 2006 at Dundas Square in downtown Toronto. The Fresh Air Fair was attended by over 500 people and featured an exciting array of performances and fun activities for everyone who attended. This year, the Fair included some shadow puppetry, bicycle acrobatics, Winona Steel Pan Orchestra, as well as several environmental booths to raise awareness of the impacts of air pollution. This event led up to the 2006 Smog Summit, which was held at Toronto City Hall on June 7 and 8.
The Fresh Air Fair engaged children, youth and families in activities that raise awareness of the importance of clean air. It actively demonstrated how working together can motivate action and make a difference in the future for the sake of our environment and health. The activities encourage active lifestyle choices, while promoting their benefits in improving local air quality and a healthier self. The Clean Air Partnership would like to thank all who participated in the event, helping make it so much fun.
