National Award for Toronto's Environment Guide

TORONTO – Toronto’s Clean Air Partnership (CAP) will receive an ENERGY STAR Market Transformation Award today from Natural Resources Canada in a ceremony to be held at Ottawa’s Government Conference Centre. The award is in recognition of CAP’s “Clean Air and Environment Guide,” which provides information that helps individuals to conserve energy and protect the environment, as well as encouraging businesses to market their energy-efficient products in ways that will increase consumer demand.

“We are happy that our Guide is receiving national recognition,” said CAP Director Eva Ligeti, who will be in Ottawa to receive the ENERGY STAR Award. “Most people do want to reduce their energy use, protect the environment, and save money at the same time. The problem has always been a lack of information about where to start. The CAP Guide gives them that information.”

This year's ENERGY STAR Awards Ceremony coincides with the second annual conference on The Business of Climate Change, presented by the World Wildlife Fund and sponsored by Natural Resources Canada and Alcan.
