PUTTING ENERGY EFFICIENCY INTO CONSTRUCTION PRACTICE
TORONTO – This special roundtable breakfast session will highlight the findings of the Skills for Energy Efficient Construction report, prepared by the Clean Air Partnership and the Canadian Urban Institute with the Toronto Training Board.
The building sector consumes close to a third of energy use in Canada. If Canadians are to significantly reduce energy consumption, the construction sector provides an important opportunity to reduce our energy needs.
Join panelists in a discussion about whether the existing training system adequately provides the skills and knowledge needed for energy efficient construction. What challenges need to be addressed to successfully build and maintain energy efficient buildings? Does the existing regulatory framework go far enough to mandate energy efficient construction? Will market demand shift to bring about energy efficient buildings?
