TORONTO - Municipal representatives with an interest reducing their energy costs through the purchase of ENERGY STAR qualified products are encouraged to attend this informative workshop.

Municipalities spend a lot of money on the energy that is needed to operate their facilities. From computers, photocopiers and fax machines in their offices, to boilers and air conditioners in buildings - energy costs form a significant amount of municipal budgets.
This one-day workshop will address ways municipalities can lower these energy costs through the purchase of ENERGY STAR qualified products and how the procurement of these products can be easily integrated into municipal procurement policies.
Calling representatives from the following departments:
Purchasing; Public Health/Air Quality/Energy; Computer Operations; Facilities and Real Estate; Finance; Policy Makers; and Public Housing Managers
Topics will include: ENERGY STAR Procurement Toolkit for Municipalities
- Review of draft report to council recommending an ENERGY STAR procurement policy
- Financial justification of ENERGY STAR products
- Strategy for follow-up networking and support
