There are green buildings located in communities all across the province. Green buildings help to reduce stresses on our natural environment by minimizing the impacts of human settlement and are a key ingredient in promoting healthier and more sustainable communities. Doors Open Ontario provides an opportunity for the public to virtually explore buildings that protect and work in harmony with our natural environment. There are a range of buildings on this site, many are in communities where Doors Open festivals were held in 2008 and some buildings listed are included for recognition, interest and education purposes and are not part of any festivals.
